Today was a great day. We found out what day we will have court. Our court date is Oct. 13. We were lucky to get that date for court. The judge told Victor he was busy and we would have to wait at least another two weeks, maybe even four weeks. While talking to the judge, Victor discovered he used to be a police officer. Victor told him that I was a police officer. This impressed the judge and he asked more questions about me.
There was more good news today. Ray and Carrie, one of the American families here to adopt, decided to adopt Olga. They came to adopt Inna but were approved for two children. Next week, they will return to Kiev to get a referral for Olga. They are waiting until they return from Kiev to tell her they are adopting her. I can't wait to see the look on her face when she finds out she is getting adopted. She is such a sweet girl and she really deserves a family.
The first thing we did when we arrived at the orphanage was to talk to Emily about the court date. A big smile came across Emily's face as I told her what day we were having court. I told her on that day, she will become our daughter. Then, I told her which day I will be taking her away from the orphanage forever. This brought an even bigger smile on Emily's face then she gave me a big hug.
The weather was really nice again today. We went outside to play with our children. One of the families brought a football with them to Ukraine so we started out playing football. Emily had so much fun throwing the football. We also kicked around a soccer ball. Again, Emily picked up the camera and started taking pictures of everyone. She really does enjoy taking pictures.
After a considerable amount of time alone with our children, many of the other children joined us outside. Children were all over the place kicking and throwing balls, writing with sidewalk chalk, and blowing bubbles. There was so much going on around us. Laura painted Emily's nails and Holly painted Rada's nails. In the picture on this post, you can see the girls have matching nails.
Tomorrow we are going to the orphanage early. It will be nice to have more time to spend time with our precious daughter.
